20,000 Square-Foot NAVFAC Project Begins in Crane, Indiana 11/12/2010

Work has begun on two facilities for the U.S. Navy Engineering Command in Crane, Indiana.

The complete Design-Build project includes the renovation of approximately 20,000 SF in Buildings 2036 & 2038. The renovation work includes abatement, complete interior demolition of the existing spaces, replacement of the roofing system, and construction of new office and lab spaces. The $5 million project is scheduled to be complete in the spring of 2011.

Marine Corps Center Begins in Joliet, IL 11/5/2010

The Korte Company, a Design-Build construction company headquartered in St Louis, Missouri, in partnership with Charpie Construction, Inc, located in Chicago, Illinois has been awarded a project for the United States Navy's Engineering Command. The facility is a Marine Corps Reserve Center, located in Joliet, Illinois.

The 26,134 square-foot, $7.3 million center will consist of an 18,000 SF Marine Reserve Training Center (RTC), a 2,500 SF equipment storage area, 3,600 SF parachute facility and a 2,000 SF diving equipment locker. The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2011.
