Korte Design

Gateway International Raceway is a first-class facility capable of hosting international-caliber races in the St. Louis area.

As the design-build contractor, Korte used design management, tight scheduling and accurate coordination to provide a race-ready track in time for Gateway’s first international race-two months sooner than originally scheduled. Located on a 152-acre site, Gateway offers the racing community a 1¼-mile oval track, a ¼-mile drag strip, a road race course, a multi-level grandstand that seats 40,000 people, and luxury tower suites. A television production room and media rooms for both the oval and drag strip facilitate television broadcasts. In 1999, Korte added improvements to Turn 2 seating. This addition included elevators, raised concrete mezzanine, concession stands, restrooms, and a first-aid facility.
