Consolidated Troop Medical/Dental Clinic - Fort Lee, VA

This design-build project consists of a new Medical/Dental Clinic that includes a lobby, waiting room, laboratories, radiology, treatment rooms, immunization room, patient shower and dressing areas, pharmacy, kitchen, provider offices, and administrative areas.

The new clinic will have a 172-vehicle asphalt parking lot and gated access drive. An ambulatory vehicle station has been designed with access to the site at the rear entrance to the Clinic.

Beginning at the main entry, the materials and colors selected for the exterior flow from the outside into the lobby and waiting area. Patterns and colored flooring materials will direct the user around the building along with interior signage that has been selected to provide overall “way finding” and meet life safety requirements for soldiers using the facility.

Private offices at the perimeter wall have windows allowing for natural lighting, and natural light from the clerestory enhances the interior/exterior theme. Building systems include telecommunications, LAN, public address, nurse call, electronic queuing, intrusion detection (IDS), fire alarm/mass notification, cathodic, and lightning protection.

Expansion is also a key element in the Korte Team’s site design. The expansion area allows for a 20% future expansion. This project will meet AT/FP requirements and LEED Silver certification from USGBC.
