Nevada Cancer Institute Research Center

The Korte Company is providing complete design and construction services for the new Nevada Cancer Institute Research Building.

The four story structure will have 36 state-of-the-art research laboratories, along with support offices. The building is a steel structure with precast architectural concrete details and accented with decorative stone fin walls. Each floor was designed with nearly zero deflection standards. The basement houses a powerful yet sensitive electron microscope, med-gas tank farm and a space for a future vivarium. A complex network of med-gas piping will deliver a variety of gases throughout the building. The entire building will be Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) silver classification and consistent with the flagship building and overall campus master plan.
