Highland Recreational Center (Korte Recreational Center)

The Korte Company was selected as the design/build contractor through a qualification based selection process for this new recreation center.

The facility has a Natatorium with 5,000 square feet of water surface, with both a recreation pool (lazy river, vortex, zero entry pool, 120-foot water slide) and three 75-foot lane lap pool for fitness swimming. There is a health club-like exercise area with free weights and equipment, two (2) parallel basketball courts with one full size cross court, plus concession area and meeting rooms. Locker rooms / showers / toilets are located in the center’s two-story element to serve both the Natatorium and gymnasium wings. The park has a 3-acre lake, football field, soccer field, hiking trails and additional parking. The exterior walls are constructed using insulated sandwich concrete panels cast on site and tilted into place.
