Meet Caitlin Schauster, an Assistant Interiors Project Manager at The Korte Company

What is your role at The Korte Company?

Assistant Interiors Project Manager. I manage and design the furniture packages and am a furniture dealer. I primarily sell Haworth.

How long have you been in the construction business?

5 and a half years (4 and a half years with The Korte Company)

Describe the industry as a whole. Where is it going?

There seems to be growth in the Healthcare Industry because it is recession proof. There is growth in specialty hospitals and clinics, and aging baby boomers.

What is the biggest obstacle people are facing in your industry?

Since there are less projects out there right now, more people are bidding on the same projects and being extremely competitive. You have to look for any possible areas to cut cost.

What isn’t on your resume that separates you from others in this field?

Compared to other furniture dealers where most people have specific roles during a project like sales, design or project management, I have the privilege to work on the entire project from start to finish primarily by myself. This includes furniture sales and procurement, budgets and proposals, space planning and layouts, drawings and renderings, finish and product selections, scheduling install and deliveries, order entries, project management, customer service, and warranty issues. I’m your go to girl for anything furniture related!

What is your most significant professional accomplishment?

Probably AFRC Norman, OK and AFRC Mustang, OK. They were the two biggest jobs Korte Interiors has had and were going on simultaneously.

What’s your favorite book? Why?

The Hunger Games. It’s action packed and a fast-paced book to read. Good combination of action-packed games, survival of the fittest and a love story.

If you were a car, what kind would you be?

Probably a luxury SUV. Roomy and practical, but still have plenty of style.

What are your favorite pastimes?

Family vacations.

Do you have any pet-peeves?

People stopping or walking slow in front of me.

If you could only eat one meal for the next five days, what would it be?

Ice cream!

If you could be any fictional character, who would it be?

Hermione Granger from Harry Potter. Who wouldn’t want magical powers?

What five famous people would you invite to a dinner party?

Ellen DeGeneres, Tina Fey, Zooey Deschanel, Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson. Could be some funny, entertaining conversations.

If you had a theme song, what would it be?

Don’t Stop Believin’ by Journey.

If Hollywood made a movie about your life, who would you like to play the lead role?

Jennifer Aniston.
