Discovery Children’s Museum tenant improvement

At The Korte Company, we’ve delivered tenant improvement construction work across the country for many businesses, restaurants and owners. But this is one of the most impactful and fun tenant improvements we’ve done.

The Korte Company was selected to complete the unique tenant improvement construction project of the Discovery Children’s Museum in Las Vegas. The downtown area of Las Vegas has often been overlooked, so the area is being sculpted into a premier destination for families to work, live and play. Big developments include Zappo’s relocation to the area and the opening of the Smith Center for the Performing Arts.

One of the community’s major cultural and educational destinations in the downtown area is the Lied Discovery Children’s Museum. Since opening its doors in 1990, the Children’s Museum has been a fun and interactive place for families to grow and learn about the world around us.

The museum is keeping its commitment to downtown Las Vegas and joining the resurgence of the area. This new facility is going in the newly-opened Symphony Park complex, the 61-acre redevelopment area in the heart of Downtown Las Vegas directly adjacent to the Smith Center for Performing Arts facility. This move calls for new construction under the new name of the Donald W. Reynolds Children’s Discovery Museum.

The Korte Company was selected to undertake the 54,000-square-foot tenant improvement construction project, giving us the opportunity to work on a build that will help develop and educate our future. The new Discovery Children’s Museum will provide nine distinct exhibitions that will be able to house the greatest of traveling exhibits. The permanent WOW Tower also included in the work is located in the open, three-story atrium. The tower will allow children to climb and explore over eight levels, taking them through the roof of the facility to an observation point.
