Frank and Susan Watson Community Building

The Korte Company and Korte Design are proud to announce the completion of the renovation and addition to the Frank and Susan Watson Community Building, also known as the Bond County Senior Center.

As Bond County has the largest percentage of senior citizens in the state of Illinois, this facility is particularly important to the community.

The 3,600-square-foot addition to the existing building added a 1,300-square-foot community room, commercial kitchen and 900-square-foot pantry. The completed building now has two community rooms to allow multiple events to take place at the same time. And the pantry, which serves the area’s hungry and poor, has been brought back on-site from a remote location to better serve the public.

We also renovated the entrance lobby and restrooms. The new addition complements the existing building by matching the gable form, siding, and windows but distinguishes itself with the brick veneer on the south face. We’re particularly proud that our construction work allows the staff at Bond County Senior Center to expand the services they provide to the citizens of Bond County.
