Military Police and Emergency Services Facility – Parris Island

The Korte Company secured this Design-Build project under a Multiple Award Construction Contract (MACC) with the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC), Southern Division.

The design and construction of this 27,000-square-foot two-story facility provide for the secure and comfortable, 24-hour use of the military police and firefighting units of Parris Island, South Carolina.

For the military police and their holding cells, our Korte Design team incorporated a remotely operated, electronic locking system that secures the facility internally and externally. We configured special corridors and building wings to isolate critical areas during a lockdown mode.

We also designed a drive-through, four-bay equipment area with 68 feet of clear span and 18 feet of clear height to provide rapid access and dispatching of emergency vehicles. The first floor, office areas, training rooms, a briefing room, a central communications center, and a locker area offer an efficient arrangement for daily operations. The upstairs kitchen, dining area, TV room, restrooms and 14 private bedrooms allow the firefighters to rest and relax in their downtime.

We’ve also built many other military, municipal and government facilities. See our other fire station construction work or learn more about Department of Defense construction by The Korte Company.
