Northwest St. Clair County Fire Station

After preliminary estimates for a new fire station came in over budget, Northwest St. Clair County Fire Protection District hired The Korte Company to redesign and manage the project.

The station is a single-story building with a split-faced block with integral color and a shingle roof. The garage has three doors in the front and back through which the fire trucks enter and exit.

In addition to the garage, there are seven offices, a conference room, a kitchen, a lounge, a meeting room and a mezzanine with an exercise room. A stairwell leads up to the mezzanine from which one can slide down the pole to the first level. A glass wall in front of the mezzanine allows the pole to be seen from the outside.
