Harrisburg Medical Center – addition and renovation

The Harrisburg Design-Build project consisted of several distinct additions and renovations around the existing hospital campus. The team initially constructed a new one-level lobby addition with a partial two-story atrium.

Improvements included a new main entry canopy with an adjacent 88-car parking lot and new ambulance canopy. The existing helipad was relocated to accommodate an additional 130-car lot to the north of the facility.

The addition included a new Cardiac Rehab/Cardio Pulmonary Gym, reception/admission areas and relocated sleep labs. The lobby and gift shop were both extensively renovated.

The expanded surgery suite features a new operating room as well as future space for a second room. The scope of work also included associated clean core and CSR expansion, designed to anticipate added volume.

The existing General Stores area was renovated and expanded to include a dietary space as well as the expansion of the laboratory and pharmacy.

The team also renovated the existing PT/OT into a new emergency department, which included the replacement of the existing roof dating back to a 1998 expansion. The existing emergency department was also renovated and was expanded to house the prep and hold/stage II recovery areas.
