Armed Forces Reserve Center – Juana Díaz
In this Design-Build project, we designed and constructed a U.S. Green Building Council LEED Certified Gold Armed Forces Reserve Center and Unheated Storage buildings. The Training Center is comprised of a two-story, conventional building situated around a central courtyard.
The Training Center includes classrooms, an assembly hall, mechanical and electrical rooms, locker rooms, a fitness room, a weapons simulator, control rooms, an armory and vault, and open and private offices on both the first and second floors.
We constructed the Unheated Storage building using a site-cast concrete exterior wall system, added a painted finish and installed a standing seam metal roof. The project includes the installation of a fire pump and two on-site, 20,000-gallon water storage tanks. The tanks in combination with the fire pump ensure the Air Force Reserve Command is protected in accordance with Unified Facilities Criteria and National Fire Protection Association fire suppression requirements.
