“I really enjoy being on site — seeing how everything operates, learning from different trades, and understanding what they do and why they do it.”
— Bradley Prince, Safety Intern
Bradley Prince’s work at The Korte Company has been more than any normal summer job could offer. It’s been an opportunity to immerse himself in the field, see construction up close, and develop the skills it takes to keep crews safe on busy jobs.
From class to construction
Bradley knew he wanted a career that was never the same day twice. While studying Occupational Safety and Health at Columbia Southern University, he found himself drawn to construction — a field that changes constantly and rewards problem solvers.
“What made me choose the construction field is that it changes every day,” Bradley said. “There’s something new every day, new challenges to overcome, and I really like that about it.”
This summer, Bradley joined the team as a safety intern on the Amazon HTX3 project. It was the perfect place to learn firsthand how to keep a job site safe, efficient and productive.
Stepping up and building confidence
Bradley’s internship has been about stepping up on his own more than shadowing someone else. From his first days on the job, he was given responsibilities far beyond the average intern.

“I’m pretty much doing everything that a site safety health officer does,” he said. “I’ve taken over toolbox talks, plan of the day meetings, paperwork for pre-task plans, and equipment inspections. It’s been a lot of fun.”
Toolbox talks are quick safety meeting held at the start of a shift to address the day’s tasks and risks. Leading his first one for more than 160 people was daunting, and it was exactly what he needed.
“When I first started, I was not confident in speaking in front of everyone,” he said. “But as I went through the internship, I’ve gotten more comfortable, more knowledgeable, more confident in talking to large groups of people.”
With that experience, along with hands-on safety leadership and daily fieldwork, Bradley is sure he’s found the right career field.
“Being out here made me fall in love with construction… It’s really shown me where I want to go with my future.”
Work safe and Build Smart
From toolbox talks to equipment checks, Bradley’s summer has helped him understand how safety shapes every part of construction. He knows that great safety leaders keep teams working smart and working together. And that’s exactly what he intends to do.
He came to The Korte Company for experience. He got it and then some.
Bradley has built hands-on knowledge, strengthened his leadership skills, and is ready to take on whatever challenges the Job (aka the Boss) throws his way.
