Our history and unique approach
In 1958, Ralph Korte founded our company with three people, a truck and a saw. Today, we’re an award-winning, ENR top 400 contractor and top 100 Design-Builder.
We’ve built our company by putting our passion into every project, approaching each as if it was our own — a chance to improve. That’s kept us at the forefront of construction for decades. Through the years, we helped pioneer Design-Build, created one of the first formal safety programs and have been early adopters of BIM, Tilt-Up construction and other technologies. Today, we’re still searching each day for ways to build smarter, better and faster.

Health, dental and vision
We provide health, dental and vision coverage as an optional benefit to employees working 30 or more hours per week on average in a one year period. The Korte Company pays employee health and dental premiums.
We offer a 401(k) plan as an optional benefit for full-time employees older than 21 to invest their own funds. We provide a schedule of employer contributions that are 20 percent vested each year for the first five years of employment.
Life and disability insurance
The Korte Company provides group life insurance of 1.5 times the employee’s annual salary to a maximum of $150,000. There’s a reduction in these benefits to those older than 65. We also provide a short-term and long-term disability benefit that pays a portion of an employee’s salary in the event an employee is unable to perform his or her job.
