“Bob the Builder” Children’s Program Being Sponsored by Korte

The Korte Company is helping keep local children’s programming on television by signing a $15,000 year-long agreement to sponsor “Bob the Builder” on KETC-TV. The financial support comes at an opportune time as the House of Representatives’ Appropriations Committee cuts funding for public television (PBS) and children’s programs.

“The recent cuts to public broadcasting could mean the end of programs like Bob the Builder and Sesame Street,” said Todd Korte, president and CEO of The Korte Company. “We feel there is no better investment in the community than to support these vital children’s Shows. Additionally, we view this opportunity as a great way to promote the industry to our future builders.”

The Korte Company has a history with KETC-TV in St. Louis. In 1987, The Korte Company built a new KETC-TV studio located at 3655 Olive Street, and Tom Korte, vice president of The Korte Company, remains an active member on the Channel 9 Board of Directors.
