DBIA Presents Korte “Best Project” Award

The Korte Company has been recognized by the Design Build Institute of America (DBIA) for its design and construction of the Littleton Hall Dining Facility at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twenty Nine Palms, CA. The Regional Award, the highest level, was for the Best Project, Public Sector Under $15 Million.

The Littleton Hall dining Facility is a 31,000 square foot single story dining facility that is designed and equipped to feed 2,200 Marines in a two hour period, three times a day. The building has a structural steel frame with reinforced split face block and a standing seam roof. The project included all kitchen equipment as well as furnishing and fixtures. The Korte Company was selected primarily on the “process” to be implemented with the owner and operator to plan, design and construct a dining facility for $12.7 million. The result was a creative, sophisticated facility where Marines can relax and escape the combat training environment.
