The Korte Company has recently been named as one of the nation’s leading ‘Green’ contractors. This marks the third year Engineering News Record (ENR) has compiled a list of ‘Green’ contractors. An estimated $38.6 billion was generated in 2008 from projects that were registered or certified with a major third-party environmental standards or ratings group, which almost a 70% increase from the previous year.
Since 2007, The Korte Company has designed and constructed more than $280 million worth of projects nationwide that are registered or certified through the USGBC. In the last decade, The Korte Company and the Department of Defense have teamed up to produce another $360 million of sustainable projects under the DOD’s SPIRIT Guidelines.
In addition, The Korte Company has twenty USGBC LEED Accredited Professionals on staff, and is continuing to increase that number. According to Todd Korte, President and CEO of The Korte Company, “Our expanding LEED AP staff is a direct reflection of our continuing efforts to build ‘Green’ and embrace the environment.”
