The Korte Company Is Awarded 1000-Room Lodge at Fort Lee, VA

The Korte Company, a Design-Build construction company headquartered in Highland, Illinois, has recently been awarded an $86 million design-build project at Fort Lee, Virginia. The project, a 1000-room lodge, was awarded by the U.S. Army’s Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Command. It is also The Korte Company’s largest Department of Defense project to date.

The Korte Company’s innovative approach to the multi-story facility’s design complements the base architecture and forms a campus with the adjacent Army Logistics University while reducing the project cost. When complete, the facility will receive a LEED Silver rating from the USGBC and will provide 1,000 rooms for the soldiers and their families as they transition to and from Fort Lee.

According to Todd Korte, president and CEO of The Korte Company, “We are certainly honored to be a part of such an important project, which is significant both in terms of scope as well as its impact on the soldiers and their families who will be utilizing the lodge as they transition to and from Fort Lee.”
