The Korte Company will begin construction for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The 130,698 square-foot design-build training facility, when complete, will be a LEED Silver certified project.
The five-story building is arranged in an “H” configuration with a central core area, including the main building stair and elevators and secondary core areas, with common building functions at the corners of the “H” floor plan layout.
Scope of work includes: offices, staff break rooms, residential laundry rooms, vending rooms, housekeeping rooms, electrical closets, general storage areas, and a recycling storage room. Public spaces include the study rooms, TV, and recreational rooms. The courtyard layout provides fitness, recreation and relaxation areas for this new dormitory facility, including covered picnic shelters with BBQ grills and concrete tables, sand volleyball court, horse shoe pits, and a Cross-Fit Training Area.
According to Todd Korte, President and CEO of The Korte Company, “We are proud to be a part of the team and look forward to the delivery of another LEED certified building.”
