The Korte Company, a Design-Build construction company headquartered in St. Louis, MO, has begun work on a $9.5 million addition at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The project will provide approximately 37,390 square feet of additional space for weight training (both free and machine weights), aerobic conditioning, Physical Fitness Test (PFT)-specific exercises, floor aerobics, fencing and spin cycling classes.
The facility will utilize tilt-up concrete panels with a marble stone veneer to match the existing building and will be LEED Silver Certified upon completion in early 2012.
