Las Vegas construction company lands downtown tenant improvement project

The Korte Company has been selected to complete the unique tenant improvement project of the Discovery Children’s Museum in Las Vegas. The downtown area of Las Vegas has often been overlooked and so the area is being sculpted into a premier destination for families to work, live and play with announcements of Zappo’s relocation to the area and the opening of the Smith Center for the Performing Arts.

One of the community’s major cultural and educational destinations in the downtown area is the Lied Discovery Children’s Museum. Since opening its doors in 1990, the Children’s Museum has been a fun and interactive place for families to grow and learn about the world around us. The Museum is keeping their commitment to downtown Las Vegas and joining the resurgence of the area. This new facility is going in the newly-opened Symphony Park complex, the 61-acre redevelopment area in the heart of Downtown Las Vegas directly adjacent to the Smith Center for Performing Arts facility. This move calls for new construction under the new name of the Donald W. Reynolds Children’s Discovery Museum.

The Korte Company was selected to undertake the 54,000-square-foot tenant improvement project, giving us the opportunity to work on a project that will help develop and educate our future. The new Discovery Children’s Museum will provide nine distinct exhibitions that will be able to house the greatest of traveling exhibits. The permanent WOW Tower also included in the work is located in the open three-story atrium. The tower will allow children to climb and explore over eight levels, taking them through the roof of the facility to an observation point. Our dedication to building smart and continually finishing projects on time and on budget helped The Korte Company win such a great opportunity.

This project will provide a state-of-the-art facility that will stand for progress in the Downtown Las Vegas area and within the hearts and minds of the community. The Museum’s motto is to “Ignite a love of lifelong learning!” The Korte Company is proud to partner with this vision that will ignite the spirit of the city.

The work is scheduled to be finished later this year. Discover more about this groundbreaking project.
