Work Begins on Fort Allen Project in Puerto Rico

The Korte Company was recently awarded a Design-Build project at Fort Allen in Puerto Rico. The 54,800 square foot project consists of an Armed Forces Reserve Training Center and storage facility. The two-story training building is situated around a central courtyard and features both open and private offices throughout. The design also includes a weapons simulator and control room, along with classrooms, assembly hall, fitness rooms, locker rooms and an armory/vault.

The storage building is constructed with a site-cast exterior wall system and will house two 20,000 gallon on-site water tanks and fire pump and ensures the training center is protected in accordance with UFC and NFPA fire suppression requirements. According to Todd Korte, President & CEO of The Korte Company, “Our history with the Armed Forces has brought us to many locations across that country, and we view our work in Puerto Rico as an opportunity to expand on that experience.”
