Air Products, the world’s leading supplier of liquefied natural gas process technology and equipment, partnered with The Korte Company to expand its current production and global distribution capabilities at their Port Manatee manufacturing facility in Palmetto, Florida.
The 81,000-square-foot pre-engineered metal building is designed to withstand 145 mph winds and houses industrial manufacturing stations designed to fabricate equipment used in the compression and storage of natural gases for domestic and international distribution.
The building’s foundation, comprised of 70 precast concrete driven piles, is driven to depths ranging from 45 to 62 feet to support the facility’s concrete reinforced floor system. To accommodate two overhead Semi-Gantry cranes, the facility’s eave height measures 44 feet.
Expanded security and fire protection systems were integrated into the facility’s existing systems. New pavement and apron areas were incorporated to connect new construction with the existing site. Work also included administrative and office spaces as well as a restroom area.
