The Amazon Prime facility in Springfield, Virginia, was a Design-Build renovation for Amazon Corporate, LLC. The 37,800-square-foot conversion provided a distribution and logistics center for Amazon Prime.
The scope of work was completed within an extremely aggressive schedule and budget. It included remodeled office areas and the addition of insulated wall panels for the temperature-controlled warehouse. Refrigeration equipment was added for cold storage and frozen food storage.
Design upgrades included architectural, structural, civil, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and refrigeration services. Mechanical system design included evaluating the existing refrigeration system, design of new direct expansion refrigeration systems, plumbing, and HVAC modifications to the existing warehouse and office areas.
