The Korte Company has partnered with Amazon, the e-commerce giant, to design and construct numerous facilities across the country. With more than a dozen successful Amazon Fresh and Amazon Prime projects delivered to date, The Korte Company is working closely with the Amazon team to help introduce and support its newest grocery delivery service, Ultrafast.
Ultrafast from Amazon provides customers with a wide selection of fresh produce, meat, seafood and household essentials with options for fast one- and two-hour delivery windows, a service that is expanding into additional markets across the country.
To help meet the increasing demand, The Korte Company delivered more than 36,800 square feet of additional refrigerated and controlled temperature capacity to existing facilities in Chicago, Milwaukee and Dallas, as well as two in Columbus and West Chester, Ohio.
The scope of work totaled approximately 190,900 square feet and included new construction, renovation and the installation of walk-in cooler space, freezer space and dual temperature cases. Both roof-mounted and remote condensing units were utilized to maintain temperature specifications.
During the comprehensive renovation of the existing facilities, a phased construction schedule was maintained to ensure current operations would remain fully operational.
