Construction began in the summer of 2024 on Faith Community Lutheran Church’s new chapel and memorial garden — a sacred addition to their growing campus. The two-story, 6,000-square-foot chapel includes a ground-floor sanctuary with a raised altar, a choir area, and upper-level seating for a total of 226 guests. A north-facing window wall was designed to house stained glass and anchor the worship space in natural light.
To ensure the sound matched the spirit, an acoustician helped fine-tune the space. Acoustical clouds, sound attenuation batts, wood slat walls, and integrated lighting created a balanced and refined environment. Clean finishes like porcelain tile and a second-floor glass railing added a sense of elegance throughout.
This was more than a construction project — it was a legacy piece designed to support worship, weddings, memorials, and community gatherings. Careful phasing allowed high work to be completed early, preserving both form and function.
The 2,032-square-foot Memorial and Prayer Garden offers a peaceful outdoor retreat. A 500-niche columbarium sits at the center, surrounded by a concrete bench with inserts for floral offerings. A raised planter and tile mosaic — framed by book-matched sandstone — mark the garden’s entry, all shaded by an open-air steel canopy.
Exterior materials were matched to the existing campus. Coordinating balcony levels and elevations required close collaboration to navigate site grade changes and ensure continuity.
The Korte Company was proud to deliver a space where faith, memory, and community now come together under one thoughtfully crafted space.
