The Glen Carbon Fire Department ranks with the best in the area. Its firefighters are top-notch, well-trained and extremely self-sacrificing volunteers who work hard all year to provide fire protection for the Glen Carbon community.
The Glen Carbon Fire Protection District selected The Korte Company to design and construct their new Fire Station No. 2. They found a suitable model for their new station in the Northwest St. Clair County Fire Protection District fire station located in Belleville, Illinois. That’s a facility we proudly designed and built ourselves.
The 9,156-square-foot building has a radio room, kitchen, meeting room, lounge area, offices for trustees and fire department officers, an exercise room, and storage areas for equipment and files. We also built a room that can serve as a bunk room in the event the department takes on full-time firefighters in the future. The facility includes three two-deep bays planned to accommodate the growing fire protection needs of a booming village population.
