When iHeartMedia decided to move their regional office to downtown Las Vegas, they teamed with The Korte Company to help them build out their new home on Fremont Street. Together, with HKS, Inc., they turned the 12,775-square-foot existing space into a brand new state-of-the-art facility to house their iconic brands and franchises, including both digital and broadcast.
The six new studios feature special noise-canceling devices and insulation as well as cutting-edge design elements, digitally advanced technology and resources for talent and programmers to help them connect even faster and easier with listeners.
The renovation was extensive and included selective demolition throughout the entire space to remove all existing elements, including a red iron structural steel canopy. Restaurants and bars, located below the renovated space, remained occupied and operational during the demolition and construction phases. And because off-hours were limited to 2 a.m. to 10 a.m., considerable scheduling challenges had to be met to ensure service operations remained uninterrupted.
New construction incorporated iHeartMedia’s design plans and included light gauge metal framing, drywall, paint, flooring systems, acoustical ceilings, casework, metal doors and windows. Additionally, new fire protection, plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems were installed.
“Fremont Street Experience is thrilled to have one of the top media companies and brands in the world as a neighbor and partner,” said Patrick Hughes, CEO and President of Fremont Street Experience.
