The United States Marine Corps chose The Korte Company to design and construct its new 50-unit Temporary Lodging Facility (TLF) at Kaneohe Bay Base, Oahu, Hawaii.
The new facility takes into account the relationship of the new buildings to those already existing and utilizes single-story construction, three separate lodging buildings and one lobby building constructed in a “U’ shape around a central courtyard.
All finishes and furnishings coordinate with the newly remodeled lodging units of the existing TLF and are compatible with that structure. The 23,625-square-foot, four-building facility includes 50 efficiency living units with kitchenettes, administrative office space, lobby and dining areas.
