The Korte Company completed a 40,000-square-foot tenant improvement project in Acworth, Georgia, renovating an existing facility to support Knapheide’s operations as a new Truck Equipment Center. The project modernized the building, expanded service capabilities, and enhanced efficiency to meet current demands and future growth.
Building modifications focused on improving drive-in access and workflow. New openings were created in the existing concrete tilt-up wall panels on the north and east sides of the building. The existing north-side dock was removed, and a new concrete ramp was constructed, improving vehicle circulation and access throughout the facility.
Interior upgrades included the installation of two floor-mounted 3-ton bridge cranes on the east side of the building to support truck equipment installation. A new paint booth and liner booth were added on the west side, expanding in-house service capabilities. Energy-efficient LED lighting was installed throughout the facility to improve working conditions and reduce operating costs.
Office and support spaces were upgraded to better serve staff and technicians. The southern office area received updated interior finishes, casework, and plumbing fixtures, while the northeast office area was reconfigured to include new offices, restrooms, locker spaces, and a break room.
Exterior improvements included a new TPO roof system with additional insulation, stormwater system upgrades, and replacement of asphalt pavement with concrete to increase durability and storage capacity. The building was also repainted in Knapheide’s signature colors to align with national brand standards.
