After completing the first phase of the Nevada Joint Training Center, The Korte Company was selected once again by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to deliver the next step in this world-class training campus: the Reality Based Training Facility.
Designed to prepare law enforcement and first responders across Nevada for high-pressure scenarios, this next-generation facility provides immersive, scenario-based training in a purpose-built environment.
The Reality Based Training Facility was constructed within the 100,000-square-foot shell building originally completed by The Korte Company in 2021. In 2024, the facility was dedicated in honor of LVMPD Detective Steve Scholl, whose legacy of service helped shape this campus.
The centerpiece of this second phase is the indoor tactical training village – more than 105,000 square feet of customizable space where first responders can train in realistic settings. Side A of the building features simulated streetscapes and commercial environments, while Side B houses one- and two-story premanufactured residential structures.
An existing mezzanine was adapted into a flexible training area with movable panels, allowing training staff to reconfigure layouts for evolving tactical needs.
Designed to foster collaboration and hone real-world readiness, this facility prepares first responders to face everything from routine calls to high-profile incidents. It’s a space where Nevada’s finest sharpen their skills, reinforce their teamwork, and commit themselves to saving lives.
