The Poor Clare Monastery of Our Lady of Mercy provides living quarters and a circular chapel area for the sisters who are cloistered there. The two-story stucco and wood building has an unusual design based on a religious symbol that is associated with their spiritual emphasis.
The circular chapel includes a screen down the middle to separate the public side from the private prayer area. A wing in the shape of a cross is attached to the chapel. The wing contains living facilities, a community kitchen, bedrooms, hallways and storage.
