The Korte Company successfully completed The Rocky Mountain Aviation Hangar, spanning 40,750 square feet at Henderson Executive Airport. The project boasts pre-engineered metal building frames, exterior structural studs with EIFS, a metal panel roof system, aircraft access door, interior finishes, flatwork, and comprehensive mechanical, plumbing, fire & life safety, and electrical systems.
Extensive site work was undertaken, comprising a new access road, aircraft ramp and taxi-lane, landscaping, and associated site enhancements at the public right-of-way. Additionally, the project encompasses a reception area, office, restrooms, kitchen with laundry facilities, fire pump room, electrical room, storage room, garage, and an onsite aviation fuel dispensing system.
This achievement is particularly noteworthy given the challenging caliche soil conditions, which complicated underground utilities and grading. Upon completion, the hangar will feature an 11-inch reinforced concrete slab and incorporate energy-efficient elements such as evaporative coolers and skylights, catering to the needs of Rocky Mountain Aviation and top executives of a prominent indoor sports team in Las Vegas.
