The Korte Company delivered a 24,900-square-foot Design-Build distribution facility for United Parcel Service in Conway, Arkansas. The parcel distribution center was a pre-engineered building system with metal roof panels. The exterior metal wall panels featured split-face concrete masonry accents.
A total of 15 drive-through doors were incorporated into the facility’s design to accommodate 38 car positions. The design also allows full access to the conveyor dock for parcel loading. The integrated loading bay area also features three input and output dock doors with a platform area to support the facility’s distribution workflow.
Support operations included a full-service auto shop and maintenance area as well as a wash bay for the delivery fleet. A two-story area was designed to comprise administration offices, training room, restrooms, locker facilities and a break room for drivers. A customer center was also included in the scope of work to offer on-site shipping services and customer support.
The 4.82-acre site included a paved parking area with 74 parking spaces for employees, visitors and trailer access. Additionally, the site is secured with fencing and gates with 3 points of accessibility to the adjacent roadways.
