Located on the northwest corner of the Will Rogers Airport, this new, 70,000-square-foot complex provides space to support aircraft maintenance functions for the fleet of various aircraft assigned to the Oklahoma City Branch of the U.S. Custom & Border Patrol.
Functional areas include about 41,500 square feet for the aircraft maintenance hangar, 26,000 square feet for the maintenance shops and offices, and 2,300 square feet for the building utility areas. The clear-span, high-bay hangar can accommodate 12 aircraft of various configurations. Hangar doors are about 32 feet high and are made of horizontal sliding contained in door pockets. Exterior finish materials are made of masonry combined with pre-finished insulated metal wall panels and Exterior Insulation Finishing System (EIFS).
We used a standing-seam metal roof and ensured that all design and construction meets the Antiterrorism and Force Protection requirements of UFC 4-010-01. The administrative and shop portions of the complex are environmentally controlled by a 4-pipe variable air volume system.
Electrical systems include 480Y/277 and 208Y/120 volt secondary distribution, a PA system, specialized lighting, CAT VI communications cabling, access and control systems, and intrusion detection and alarm systems. To develop the site, we built a new aircraft taxiway and more than 140,000 square feet of concrete airfield paving.
