We’re excited to announce, another Korte-built building is officially opened and in use. This time at California’s Beale Air Force Base.
On Monday, April 2, the 9th Force Support Squadron hosted a ribbon cutting to celebrate the newly constructed Child Development Center. The building opened its doors in late March, welcoming up to 280 children from six weeks to five years of age. The new facility is USGBC LEED Certified Silver and all buildings are designed to Anti-Terrorism protection standards.
According to an article on the Beale Air Force Base website, Brig. Gen. Paul McGillicuddy, 9th Reconnaissance Wing commander said, “This is the best facility I’ve ever been in, but it’s not just the facility, it’s the staff.”
The single-story project was a 37,000 square-foot build. The facility includes five infant, six pre-toddler, six todler and four preschool rooms, providing room for more than 100 children than the previous facility. The building is complete with a reception area, bathrooms, administrative offices, break and training rooms, and support areas with a laundry and storage room.
