Small think big

Just reading a passage in Wired Magazine this morning. It’s from the June 2011 issue and the article is titled “The Reviving Downtowns”. I can’t find it online, otherwise I’d link to it.

It raises the argument for main street America. And it also raises the argument for the creative class, and their role in recreating and rebuilding main street America.

The article is short, and very good, and there are great graphs and maps. But, one point really jumped out at me:

“Livable cities draw creative people, and creative people spawn jobs.”

Just something to think about for your urban planning group, your chamber of commerce, heck, your neighborhood association.

Signing off. Just a short and sweet sentiment I wanted to share today.
