The Korte Company has delivered Design-Build school construction projects big and small throughout the U.S. This Design-Build school construction project in Hawaii is sustainable, earning a U.S. Green Building Council LEED Silver certification. And the Build Smart facility helps before- and after-school program leaders provide students a positive learning and activity environment.
We handled the architectural design and construction of the Fort Shafter Youth Center on the island of Honolulu. The 16,674-square-foot building provides safe, supervised, healthy, accountable and age-appropriate activities for children and teens between the ages of six and 18 years old.
The design includes a homework center, activity rooms, multi-purpose area, teen area, kitchen prep and culinary arts area, common area, stage, restrooms, classrooms, lounge, administrative areas, and play court. We designed and built learning and fun directly into the facility.
