The Korte Company worked closely with Retko Group to deliver a fully renovated facility for the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration in Fairview Heights, Illinois.
The 8,150-square-foot Design-Build project was a comprehensive renovation that included both interior and exterior aspects.
Existing masonry walls were repaired, tuck-pointed and sealed. Exterior improvements also included new steel doors, new storefront windows, metal stairs, Americans with Disabilities Act ramp and access as well as a secure 22-car parking lot with a sliding gate. The existing roof was also repaired, renovated and equipped with new mechanical equipment as part of the scope.
Selective demolition on the interior was required prior to new construction which included two entry vestibules, interview rooms, high-security storage, secure holding cells, file server rooms, weapons storage, meeting rooms and office areas. Interior finishes were installed and integrated throughout the new layout.
High-level security components were installed throughout the space given the necessary requirements of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency.
