After preliminary estimates for their new fire station came in over budget, Northwest St. Clair County Fire Protection District hired The Korte Company to redesign and manage their project. The station is a single-story building with split-faced block with integral color and a shingle roof. The garage has three doors in the front and back through which the fire trucks enter and exit.
In addition to the garage, there are seven offices, a conference room, a kitchen, a lounge, a meeting room, and a mezzanine with an exercise room. A stairwell leads up to the mezzanine from which one can slide down the pole to the first level. A glass wall in front of the mezzanine allows the pole to be seen from the outside.
