The Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada provides the community of Las Vegas with a comprehensive list of services including food and shelter for those who need it most. It’s one of the largest nonprofit social service providers in the state of Nevada, providing a range of programs designed to offer help, hope and compassion.
The Hands of Hope Community Food Pantry plays a critical role in the community as a source of nutrition and hope. And when the pantry could no longer keep up with the growing needs of the community, they turned to The Korte Company to help them renovate and expand their facility.
The renovation included a 3,778-square-foot expansion and new fixtures for food storage, display and distribution. The added square footage will help the pantry serve up to 1,000 clients each week. The St. Vincent Lied Dining Facility kitchen was also modified as part of the overall scope, a renovation that allowed the Meals on Wheels program to relocate its production services into the renovated facility. The move created more efficiencies for the program and provided more seniors with much-needed meal service.
